We are inviting international students and staff to take part as a “human books” in our Human Library event as part of Durham Global Week.
Winter vacation opening times
From Saturday 9 December until Tuesday 2 January 2024, vacation opening times for our libraries and study spaces will apply, with some closures between Christmas and New Year. 24/7 opening at Bill Bryson Library will run until 10pm on Friday 8 December.

Durham Research Online: the next step
After a few weeks pause, Durham University’s Open Access publications repository, Durham Research Online (DRO) has been relaunched, providing unpaywalled access to publications authored by staff and students at Durham University.
Bill Bryson Library closure – Sunday 30 July 2023
Bill Bryson Library will close at 10pm on Saturday 29 July and reopen at 8am on Monday 31 July due to works carried out by Northumbrian Water affecting the water supply to the building. No access to the Library will be available during this period.
