Workshopping the Art Collection: Seeking Paradise with MEDUSA

Participants will have the chance to engage with artworks usually in storage, and delve into conversation about their contexts and ideas.

We’ll be considering what paradise looks like for these artists and the stories they tell, questioning if paradise can only ever exist within the artistic imagination, and how the lens of our personal experiences can be used to shape our own kinds of paradise.

There’s no need to prepare anything in advance - just come ready to discuss, discover and be inspired.

Part of Durham University’s Student Art Prize, supporting students to develop their creative practice before the mid-February deadline.

About MEDUSA:

Led by Durham graduates, Emily Elloway Walters and Eden Szymura, MEDUSA is a London-based arts collective catalysing conversation on feminism and connection as a means to practise radical care. Striving to reimagine through writing, curation and participatory practices, the pair critically examine culture surrounding the female experience.

Due to the historic nature of 5 the College the building is not accessible as we would like it to be.
