Dog policy

Guide and assistance dogs are welcome at the Durham University Botanic Garden, and dog bowls can be obtained from the café.

However, no other dogs are allowed in the garden at any times. While dogs are not permitted in our Garden, there are plenty of great walks in the surrounding area for you and your dog.

Please do not leave your dogs unattended in hot cars. If you see a dog in distress in a hot car, call 999 immediately.

Went in early summer and it was an absolute wonder to me how such a small place can offer such stunning attractions! … There are hidden paths and little statues everywhere you go and it's free for students as well! A lovely place to spend your afternoon or even the whole day in if you have lots of time, maybe have a picnic!
