More Information on Arts Award

Want to know more about Arts Award? Arts Award is a unique qualification that celebrates the arts in all forms. The five levels; Discover, Explore, Bronze, Silver and Gold, are designed for anyone aged between 5- 25, each level pitched to a different age group. You do not have to complete your Arts Award in any order or complete one level before you can move on to the next.  

Take part in Discover

Discover is designed for children aged 5 – 9 years but is open to anyone under 25. Created as an introduction to the arts for children, participants can take part in arts activities, find out about artists and share their discoveries.

Take part in Explore

Explore is designed for children aged from 7- 11 years but is open to anyone under 25. It involves responding to the arts by exploring new art skills, learning about artists and arts organisations, creating artworks and sharing new knowledge.

Take part in Bronze

Bronze Arts Award is a nationally recognised qualification, working at the same standard as GCSE grades D-G/3-1. This level is designed for young people aged 11 – 14 years but is open to anyone aged 11 – 25.

Bronze Arts Award supports participants to gain a greater understanding of the arts through developing their knowledge, creativity and communication skills.

Take part in Silver

Silver Arts Award is a nationally recognised qualification, working at the same standard as GCSE grades A*-C/9-4. This level is designed for young people aged 14 – 16 years but is open to anyone aged 11 – 25.

Silver Arts Award is a great opportunity for anyone who is interested in pursuing the arts in further education or for their career. You can explore arts leadership and career opportunities by planning and reviewing arts events, and by researching future opportunities and different career pathways.
