Holi Festival

Crowd of people taking part in the powder throw at Holi Festival. The people are jumping in the air and are covered in coloured powder.

Date: Spring 2024

Welcome the spring season to Durham with Holi Festival at the Oriental Museum. Holi is the Indian Spring Festival also known as the Festival of Colours, because the main way to celebrate is to throw brightly coloured powder over friends and family!

Tickets include entry to a timed powder throw with environmentally-friendly and skin-kind powder, food trucks, tasty Asian cuisine from a local food truck, storytelling, music, art activities and more!

Booking is essential and everyone welcome.

More information will be made available nearer the time.

We are looking for volunteers of South Asian heritage to help develop and deliver the festival programme. If you are interested, please email Charlotte at the Oriental Museum or telephone +44 (0)191 334 5694.
