What is Questionpoint?
Questionpoint allows Library users and visitors to contact us from anywhere and receive real time answers to questions and enquiries. You will see a box that you can type into and see replies. This is the Questionpoint Qwidget.
How do I use Questionpoint?
Just click in the text entry box (the bottom white box) and start typing your question. When you have finished typing your question press ENTER. A librarian will answer your enquiry as soon as possible during the hours Questionpoint is online.
Who will see my message?
The only person who will see what you type is the member of staff answering your enquiry. As this is currently an out of hours service it may not be a librarian from Durham University Library. The Librarian on duty may be in the USA. They will tell you if they need to pass your information on to anyone else at Durham to help answer your enquiry.
Can I chat at any time?
As this is a new service we will regularly review the availability and make changes to the hours as required. The current operating hours are from 20:00-8:00.
What do I do when Questionpoint is offline?

at any time, which will be responded to during working hours Monday to Friday. Alternatively you can find other ways to get in touch on our contact us
Is there anything I can't ask?
Messages are answered by staff who will be able to answer questions related to the library and pass on any queries to other members of library staff where appropriate. We will not tolerate offensive, abusive or inappropriate discussions and these will be terminated immediately.
