Following advice from Public Health England, Durham University is implementing a new set of actions to keep our communities healthy by reducing potential exposure to coronavirus. The museums are now closed until further notice and we are currently postponing all educational workshops, visits, outreach and activities until we are able to re-open.

We apologise for any inconvenience. We are looking at ways to potentially continue the service virtually. If you have any ideas or requests regarding how we can help the ever changing situation in schools, don’t hesitate to get in touch as we would love to hear your ideas and work with you to develop something really worthwhile.
Thinking positively, if you would like to make a booking for the autumn term, please send us your requests via email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or via the online booking form. There is no cancellation fee, so at this stage you will be reserving the date in the hope that both Durham University and schools are open to onsite visits again. As we get nearer the time of your arranged visit we will have more information about the situation and if we have to postpone, we will be in touch.
Booking is essential for all school groups visiting the Botanic Garden, including self-guided visits. We strongly recommend booking well in advance to avoid disappointment.
How to Book a Visit
- Explore the Botanic Garden’s information for schools and the 4schools workshops and choose the session you would like to book.
- Complete the online booking form. Please provide a number of alternative dates so that we are able to accommodate your visit, and let us know of any special learning or access requirements.
- Alternatively, please complete the downloadable form and return the completed form to the Botanic Garden using the details on our Contact us page.
Once your booking has been confirmed you will receive written confirmation of your visit and an invoice will also be sent out.
