Post-16 Online Resources
Online Support
Whatever courses and qualifications you are doing in your Post-16 studies, we want to support you. On this page you will find our free guides ready to download to help you with research skills, essay writing, revision and more. For those of you who are thinking about continuing on to university, these independent research skills and the inquiry-based learning will be great preparation for your further education.

Research Skills Taught Online
The Learning and Engagement Team are able to deliver our research skills session online via Microsoft Teams or Zoom. This session will need to be booked ahead by a member of school staff by emailing us directly (4schools@durham.ac.uk) or by using our online booking form. Please note that this session cannot be booked by individual students.
Pupils will need to have access to Microsoft Teams or Zoom and be able to follow the course on One Note alongside the taught session. At least one member of school staff will be required to be present online for the session. The Learning and Engagement Team are keen to discuss all arrangements with school teaching staff regarding the individual online teaching policies of each school to ensure that we are compliant with those at all times.
Access the University Library
You can search the library catalogue from your home and some resources are available online for free.
Work Experience
Durham University Library and Collections offer two opportunities for work experience across the academic year. We invite applications from post-16 (sixth form and college students) who are interested in learning more about the heritage sector and working with our Curatorial Team, Archives and Special Collections Team, Conservation Team, Visitor Services Team and the Learning and Engagement Team.
