Summer in the City ONLINE Festival

Summer 2020

Summer in the City Festival (SitC) went digital in 2020 in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. The wholly online festival acted as a test-bed and springboard for developing and sharing digital learning. The programme enabled live interactions and sharing, student and community support, and created an archive of re-useable online arts projects. 

Highlights included: 

  • Durham university Student Art Prize online exhibition 
  • Short films made by artists 
  • Stay-at-home creative resources created by artists
  • Online affordable art market with Thought Foundation 
  • Live theatre workshops 
  • Conversations in quarantine  
  • Online exhibitions.
