Thesis
My project attempts to use the category of blessing as a heuristic to understand the relationship between the patriarchs and the nations throughout the book of Genesis. While it does not eschew modern historical-critical methods, it draws theologically upon early Jewish and patristic literature and methods. The goal is to contribute to Christian readings of the text that recognise a priority and an abiding position of Israel among the nations within God’s economy.
