Team Durham

About Us

Tae Kwon Do is a martial art that has ranks, as you train you will go up the ranks and earn different coloured belts. We typically have three gradings in a year which enables our students a have a chance to progress through the different colour belts. More than this, Tae Kwon Do has tenets by which its students should strive to live by as these qualities help us to grow as people.

Many of our students start from the very beginning and we take students of all abilities and previous experience. You don’t have to be the model athlete to come and join in, we welcome everybody and would encourage everyone to give Tae Kwon Do a go! We're a club that is proud of its inclusivity and over the last academic year we introduced the TKD Hardship Fund, designed to open up training to those who may not be able to afford to join a sports team.

We’re a sports club that works hard to build community amongst our members, we want to Tae Kwon Do to be more than just your Monday night activity. We have social events running throughout the academic calendar. The socials we run are not just all about the pub and we try to put to on a range of activities that will appeal to all.
