About Us

Durham University Women’s Cricket Club (DUWCC) is an inclusive club that caters to all abilities.

We have 2 squads, both of which train with ECB qualified coaches:

- The 1s squad is for girls who have typically played club and county cricket before university. They placed second in the Outdoor BUCS Premiership in 2017, 2018 and 2019.

- Our 2s squad looks to develop less experienced players and those wanting to play in a more relaxed setting. In 2019 they placed second in their league, narrowly missing out on promotion.

Training times vary but we tend to have 3 or 4 sessions a week to fit around academic life and other extracurricular activities. Training is supported by strength and conditioning sessions, physio support and a focus on sports psychology. There is flexibility so that players can work around other academic and extracurricular commitments.

Club Captain: Antonia Welch and Anna Perkins

Coaches: Melvin Betts, Ash Thorpe and Will Allen
