Don't hog it!

(2 May 2012)

During the exam term, study space is at a premium. Whilst we encourage students to make sure they take regular breaks whilst they study at the Library, we have received complaints about a number of users 'hogging' Library study spaces.

When study spaces are in high demand, taking a prolonged break and leaving your possessions at your desk is not acceptable. Please keep breaks to a limit of 15-20 minutes. If you are planning a longer break, please take your belongings with you.

We may remove belongings left unattended in study spaces for extended periods.

The Library is a shared resource and whilst staff can give some time to checking facilities and occupancy levels, to do this continually throughout the extended building is time consuming and not the most efficient use of staff time.

Flyers will however be left in vacated study spaces and if they are still there on a second check, items will be removed and can be collected from Level 2 Help and Information point.

We ask that all students use study spaces considerately - don't hog it!
