Online lecture study space

(23 October 2020)

We have identified study spaces within Bill Bryson Library and Leazes Road Study Space to support you attending timetabled online learning from a central location on campus. These study spaces are ideal for those times when you have an online lecture, seminar or tutorial before or after a face to face lecture and you don’t have time to get home and get online!

These spaces are designed to give you some privacy, enabling you to focus on your lecture or other online learning activity. Please note they are not soundproof or confidential areas. You must ensure you have headsets and speak quietly, to avoid disturbing other users nearby.

You will need to pre-book these spaces via our Space Bookings system. Bookings will be available between the following times:

  • Bill Bryson Library – 8am-10.30pm (as of Monday 26 October)

  • Leazes Road – 8.30am-6pm (as of Monday 2 November)

Bookings will start on the hour and last for 55 minutes, to allow for the next person to arrive safely before the start of the next booking.

You can book up to three timeslots per week (one per day) in addition to any other Stay and Study timeslots you have booked.

As ever, we are reviewing and re-assessing our services, capacities and access to our buildings and will continue to develop our services to meet your needs and keep everyone safe. Services and procedures will be kept under review and revised in line with Government and University guidance.
