Behind the Scenes: The Norman Cornish Sketchbooks

8th February 2020, 12:00 to 13:00, Palace Green Library , Mike Thornton

Join Norman Cornish’s son-in-law, Mike Thornton, for a special illustrated lecture exploring the development of Cornish’s work

In this special event, Mike will share stories of Norman's life and work, including the development of some of his most iconic images. Focusing on the artist's obsessive commitment to sketching, we will learn how he meticulously recorded life around him: at home, at the local mines and in the pubs and streets of his home town of Spennymoor.
