Have you always wanted to paint but weren’t sure where to start? Perhaps you already have the skills but don’t find the time to indulge your hobby? Join us at Palace Green Library this December for a full day dedicated to the art of painting with acrylics.

Paul Belcher, a local, friendly, and experienced artist and workshop leader will guide you from your initial ideas right through to a finished piece, ready to take home. The day will start with a visit to one of our current exhibitions, Between Worlds: Folklore and Fairy Tales from Northern Britain, from which you can draw inspiration. Make real or mythical characters from local tales come to life, reimagine the landscapes in which these stories are set, or tell your own story through your image – the choice is entirely yours! Paul will provide guidance, tips, and tricks to suit your level in an informal environment.

All materials will be provided; participants will be working with acrylic paint.

Tea and coffee will be provided throughout the day. Please feel free to bring a packed lunch or have lunch in our café just next door where you can find a selection of soups, sandwiches, and cakes.

To book, please contact our Front of House team on 0191 3342932 to reserve your ticket or purchase directly from the reception desk. Spaces are limited to 10.
