Times and Tickets

Durham World Heritage Site Visitor Centre is open daily and is free to enter. 

Our team of staff and volunteers will be able to provide you with information to make the most of your visit to Durham’s World Heritage Site. You can: 

• Be introduced to Durham’s World Heritage Site 
• Purchase Castle Tour Tickets 
• Find out about events and activities taking place across Durham World Heritage Site. 

Opening times

Note: From April to October we are open until 7pm on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month.

During December we are closed from 23rd until 26th, open from 27th until 30th, 11am-4pm, and then closed again December 31st and January 1st .
