An illustrated talk by Professor Keith Pratt. This lecture is hosted by the Friends of the Oriental Museum, as part of the 2018/19 series.

For 21 years in the late 19th Century the inhabitants of the British Empire, the Chinese Empire, and the kingdom of Korea were all ruled by women. How did this unique situation come about and what were the results of their remarkable lives?

This lecture is open to all. Lectures are free to Friends. For visitors the cost is £3 (£1 concession).
