Holi Festival

Sunday, 12 March 2017 , 12:00 to 17:00
Oriental Museum

Welcome the spring season to Durham with our Holi festival!

The event includes timed outdoor powder throws, with a free environmentally and skin-kind powder sachet of brightly coloured Holi powder for each participant, and the opportunity to purchase additional bags.

Your ticket also gives free entry to the Oriental Museum, where you can hear the traditional story of Holi, enjoy Holi-themed craft activities, and explore our South Asia and South East Asia galleries.

Delicious food and refreshments will be available to purchase from the Asian Food Project and the Oriental Museum cafe.

Tickets are bookable through Eventbrite at £4 per person (under 2's are free). Each ticket provides entry to an outdoor countdown powder throw with music ranging from Bollywood, classic Indian songs, Bhangra and upbeat pop music.

All are welcome to come and enjoy this wonderful event and there are special ‘family’ slots for those with younger children. The museum opens at midday, so why not come early and make the most of your afternoon.

Please contact Charlotte at the Oriental Museum on 0191 3345694 or by email at for more information about this event.
