An exhibition, created in partnership with the National Museum of Japanese History, exploring how images of famous tales of samurai, travellers and heroes during the 18th and 19th centuries in Japan inspired art created during the real life conflicts at the end of the 19th century and early 20th century.
The ancient cities and monuments of the Taxila Valley form a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Pakistan. The focus of excavations by the British archaeologist, Sir John Marshall in the early 20th century, these investigations were recorded in a detailed photographic archive.
Pioneering archaeologist Dame Kathleen Kenyon (1906-1978) excavated at the site of Ancient Jericho and established it as one of the oldest cities in the world.
