An exhibition, created in partnership with the National Museum of Japanese History, exploring how images of famous tales of samurai, travellers and heroes during the 18^th and 19^th centuries in Japan inspired art created during the real life conflicts at the end of the 19^th century and early 20^th century.

The ancient cities and monuments of the Taxila Valley form a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Pakistan. The focus of excavations by the British archaeologist, Sir John Marshall in the early 20th century, these investigations were recorded in a detailed photographic archive.

Pioneering archaeologist Dame Kathleen Kenyon (1906-1978) excavated at the site of Ancient Jericho and established it as one of the oldest cities in the world.
