Using the tutorials

These online tutorials will guide you step-by-step through some of the library's main databases. Each tutorial opens two new windows on your screen side by side. In some cases these windows are two separate pop-up windows, and are not displayed as a frameset. Please disable your pop-up blocker if it is currently activated.

On the left is the 'guide at the side' that provides introductions and instructions to tasks. The window on the right is the main window that contains a web page which may be a live resource or a page of text.

To work through a tutorial:

  • read the text in the guide window
  • carry out tasks in the main window
  • then return to the guide window to progress to the next step of the tutorial.
  • most tutorials have about ten steps to complete
