Where possible the department will answer enquiries relating to its holdings. We cannot answer general enquiries, provide professional services such as valuations, nor carry out lengthy research. Where prolonged searches through records are required, a list of local record agents can be provided who may be commissioned to carry out searches; otherwise a charge may be made. Enquiries can be submitted by post, email or telephone. Please try to supply as much information as possible and to be specific about places or date ranges required.

A table of charges payable is available for using copies made from collections in our care.
