Senior College Officers
The Principal: Professor Jan Clarke, BA, MA, PhD Warwick
The Principal is Head of the College and has overall responsibility to the Pro-Vice Chancellor and Deputy Warden (Professor Graham Towl), and hence to University Council, for all the activities in and of the College. In this capacity the Principal works closely with all College Staff and student representatives and with College Council (which is her Advisory Body chaired by Professor Anthony Long). In addition to occupying a post in College the Principal is a Professor in the School of Modern European Languages and Cultures.
The Vice-Principal and Senior Tutor: Ms Laura Todd BSc
The Senior Tutor is directly responsible to the Principal for all matters relating to the academic and pastoral care of students, for the admission of undergraduates and postgraduates, for the allocation of accommodation to students and for the College Tutorial system. One of her major roles is in Student Support and she is very happy to see students on any academic, personal or other matters, as the need arises.
The Bursar: Mr Chris Finnemore
The Bursar is directly responsible to the Principal for all matters relating to finance, health and safety, security, planned maintenance and the day to day management of the College services including housekeeping, catering, portering and maintenance.
Other College Officials
Student Support Officer: Mrs Elaine Franklin BA
Mrs Elaine Franklin is responsible for the running of all aspects of the College’s admissions arrangements. She is also responsible for the allocation of postgraduate accommodation, and the College’s arrangements for Congregation. She assists the Senior Tutor in undergraduate welfare support in College, and is happy to see students on academic, personal or other matters as the need arises. Mrs Franklin is also the Postgraduate Support Tutor and College's Diversity Contact.
Principal's Secretary: Mrs Julie Blake
Mrs Blake is the secretary to the Principal and has responsibility for her diary appointments. Mrs Blake also has responsibility for Alumnus relations and adminsters the Colleges Trust funds. Mrs Blake also assists the Student Support Secretaries in student support.
Student Support Secretaries: Mrs Anne Franklin (not Wednesday), Mrs Joanne Thirlaway (am) and Mrs Bonny Bainbridge (pm)
The Student Support Secretaries are an integral part of the student support system and deal with all matters relating to students, eg course registration, examinations, concessions, reporting illness, car parking, student records etc. They also support the Principal, Senior Tutor, Student Support Officer and College Tutors in their work and have a role in the general administration of College.
The Chaplain: Rev Tim Ferguson
The Chaplain is concerned for the pastoral welfare of all members of the College Community, including domestic and catering staff, students, administrative staff and members of the Senior Common Room . He coordinates the College Chaplaincy, organises Chapel Services, and supports those looking to develop their faith.
Reception: Miss Claire Johnson (P/T), Mrs Debra Stone (P/T)
Reception deal with all reception based matters and are the first point of contact for visitors to the College and general enquiries.
The Librarian is directly responsible to the Principal for all matters pertaining to the Library and its operation, including arrangements for part-time cover.
Finance Assistant: Mrs Beverly Garrett
The Finance Assistant, is responsible for Residence and Tuition fee matters, as well as providing support to the Bursar in all other financial, accounting and budgeting aspects of College.
The day-to-day management of the Kitchen and Dining Room is the responsibility of the College Head Chef, Mr Robert Cummins and the College Food Services Manager, Mrs Sandra Wilson. Robert, Sandra and their team are very proud to be recognized as having the best College food in the University.
Operations Manager: Mrs Joanne Moorhouse BA
Mrs Moorhouse is responsible to the Bursar for all housekeeping and domestic operations within College. She is assisted in her responsibilities by Mr Kingsley Forster, Assistant Operations Manager (Services) and Mrs Deborah Dinning, Assistant Operations Manager (Housekeeping) and Housekeeping Team Leaders, Mrs Lorraine Leslie, Miss Angie Green and Miss Susan Reed.
Bar Manager: Mr Ben Simpson
The Bar Manager is responsible to the Bursar for the management of the College Bar and other bar services provided to functions and events.
SRC President: Mr George McNeilly, BA
As President of the student community, the SRC President works closely alongside College Officers and staff on a wide variety of matters to do with the life of the College. The SRC Office is located in the reception area.
We have an excellent team of porters and maintenance staff who have regular contact with the student body. The porters cover Reception on evening and weekends, as we have twenty four hour cover seven days a week.
We also have an excellent team of domestic and catering staff working extremely hard to ensure that the College runs smoothly and students are provided for.
