Undergraduate Study
From its medieval origins as the burial site of St Cuthbert, to the North-East's part in the industrial revolution, Durham is a place truly steeped in history.
Within a stone's throw of the Department is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that includes both our magnificent Cathedral, one of the most outstanding works of medieval architecture in the world, and Castle, parts of which date from around 1072.
The Department of History's reputation in undergraduate education is similarly distinguished.
