The Executive Dean’s Scholarship

50% of tuition fee.

The number of Executive Dean's Scholarships available: 1

Durham University Business School Executive Dean’s Scholarship - awarded to an exceptional candidate who can demonstrate significant academic and extra-curricular achievements.

Open to applicants for FT and Online MBA Programmes.

Applicants will be considered based upon:

  • Academic achievement. Alongside the academic achievements required for entry, other academic qualifications that demonstrate academic achievement will be considered, e.g. GMAT score of 650 or above.
  • Work or voluntary experience relevant to the programme for which they have applied
  • Any additional skills, experience or extra-curricular activities that will add value and indicate that they will make a significant contribution to the cohort on the programme or the Business School.

Full-Time MBA Scholarships

Up to £10,000

The number of Full-Time MBA Scholarships available: 25+

Awarded to applicants who can demonstrate excellent academic and post-graduation work experience.

Applicants will be considered based upon:

  • Academic achievement. Alongside the academic achievements required for entry, other academic qualifications that demonstrate academic achievement will be considered, e.g. GMAT score of 650 or above.
  • Work or voluntary experience relevant to the programme for which they have applied
  • Any additional skills, experience or extra-curricular activities that will add value and indicate that they will make a significant contribution to the cohort on the programme or the Business School.

Full-Time MBA - Women in Business

50% of tuition fee

Scholarships available: 1

Awarded to one female candidate who can demonstrate excellent academic and post-graduation work experience.

Applicants will be considered based upon:

  • Academic achievement. Alongside the academic achievements required for entry, other academic qualifications that demonstrate academic achievement will be considered, e.g. GMAT score of 650 or above.
  • Work or voluntary experience relevant to the programme for which they have applied
  • Any additional skills, experience or extra-curricular activities that will add value and indicate that they will make a significant contribution to the cohort on the programme or the Business School.

Online MBA Scholarships

Up to £5,000.

The number of Online MBA Scholarships available: 9 per intake (April 2020 and October 2020)

To be considered, you must hold an offer of a place by 28th February for April 2020 intake.

Awarded to applicants who can demonstrate excellent academic and post-graduation work experience.

All applicants will be automatically considered for applicable scholarships; no separate scholarship application is necessary.

Applicants will be considered based upon:

  • Academic achievement. Alongside the academic achievements required for entry, other academic qualifications that demonstrate academic achievement will be considered, e.g. GMAT score of 650 or above.
  • Work or voluntary experience relevant to the programme for which they have applied
  • Any additional skills, experience or extra-curricular activities that will add value and indicate that they will make a significant contribution to the cohort on the programme or the Business School.

Online MBA - Women in Business

Up to £6,000.

The number of Online MBA Scholarships available: 1 per intake (April 2020 and October 2020)

To be considered. You must hold an offer of a place by 28th February for April 2020 intake.

NHS Masters in Business Administration (MBA)

Durham is one of only seven institutions to have received recognition from the NHS Leadership Academy as a registered provider of the Online MBA. If you work for the NHS or an affiliated organisation in England, you could qualify for an automatic scholarship covering 20% of tuition fees. Click here for more information.

Terms and Conditions

To be considered for one of the Durham University Business School Scholarships applicants must:

  • Complete the appropriate programme application process in full and have received a conditional offer.
  • We advise early application to ensure consideration for a scholarship, as offer holders will be considered until all available scholarship funds are allocated.
  • Be available to take up your programme place in the 2020/21 academic year
  • For the Executive Dean's Scholarship, you must complete the appropriate programme application process in full and have received a conditional offer for study by June 30th 2020, the awardee will be notified by 31st July 2020.
  • Be willing to participate and cooperate in marketing activities which the School may organise for the scholarship winners
  • Be completely self-funding in order to be eligible for a scholarship. Where fees are paid by an employer, private provider or government body, applicants will not be considered for a scholarship.
  • Scholarship fees cover the standard completion timescales of our programmes
  • Scholarships are not transferable and not deferrable. They are valid only for use by scholarship winners in the academic year for which the scholarship has been awarded. Applicants who choose to defer entry will be considered for available scholarships available in the year of entry. Acceptance of a scholarship before deferral does not guarantee a scholarship offer during the year of entry.
  • There is no cash alternative to be offered if a place on the programme is not taken up.

Scholarship Acceptance

To secure the scholarship award applicants must confirm acceptance of the award by the date stated on the scholarship offer email. Failure to confirm acceptance of the scholarship by this date may result in the applicant’s right to the scholarship being removed and the scholarship being awarded to another applicant.
