Science Alive - Northumbria University Date: 18-19 March 2007 Hosts: Northumbria University Event: Science Alive Run by: Sarah Mclusky, sparks Education Earth Sciences contribution by - Chris Saville, Katya Manamsa and Jo Morris (Katya and Jo are third year undergraduates on the Earth Sciences into Schools course) Participants: Year 7 - 9 (11-14yrs) Science Alive is an event run by Northumbria University designed to get scientific businesses and universities showing secondary school students what working in the sciences is really like. The pupils will experince a number of hands-on activities lasting about half an hour each. The aim of the event is to enthuse children about science with the hope that this will effect the numbers of people carrying study of the sciences on to higher levels.
