Visitor Centre Cafe

Coffee Shop

The Garden’s Visitor Centre has a Cafe and Shop which offers a wide selection of hot and cold drinks, sandwiches and an extensive range of snacks and bakery items. This is the perfect place to unwind after a stroll around the Botanic Garden.

However, you don't have to be visiting the Botanic Garden to make use of our Cafe. If you are just coming in for a coffee, or to find that perfect birthday gift in our shop, you won't be charged admission.

During the year our Coffee Shop also serves as an exhibition space to showcase the work of local artists and photographers, many of whom offer their work for sale. Such artwork provides added interest when sipping a hot chocolate on an autumn afternoon.

Gift Shop

The Botanic Garden’s Gift Shop is full of unique and lovely items, many not found anywhere else in Durham. We have a great range of gifts for the keen gardener; with various sized seed boxes, string holders, watering cans and some easy size garden trug and gloves for gardening beginners.

Looking for a gift? Then check out our beautiful bee range, our scented soaps, our wooden collection and much more.

We also have a selection of traditional, handmade greeting cards available for any special occasion.

Finally, with our childrens pocket money section we have something for everyone.
