Sir John Stainer's remarkable life in music tells the story of one of the most important English musicians of the Victorian era.  

Best known for his choral work, The Crucifixion, his many compositions and arrangements include some of Britain's best loved hymns, anthems, songs and carols. The exhibition celebrated the contribution that Stainer made to the musical life of Victorian Britain and the legacy of his work in music today.
