Celebrate Science 2022

Celebrate Science is live for 2022! Durham University invites you to join us on Tuesday 25th, Wednesday 26th and Thursday 27th of October 2022 for three fun packed and fascinating days of free events, activities, workshops, experiments and lectures celebrating science.

Visit the Celebrate Science Marquee on Palace Green, the heart of Durham's World Heritage Site where a wide range of free science themed events, activities and workshops will be taking place, including investigations of animal skulls, magnetism and optical illusions. Children will be invited to create inventions and take part in experiments and university experts will be on hand to answer queries from visitors on everything from DNA to rocks and fossils. You can even relax and soak up the atmosphere in the Yum Cafe, which will be offering light refreshments within the Celebrate Science Marquee. A varied programme of events will also be taking place at University attractions across the City including the Botanic Garden and the Oriental Museum throughout the festival and half-term week, so don't forget to visit them too and see what you can discover!
