Programme Information

Exchange students should take 15 units per term/semester (30 units per year). Course information can be found using the Academic Calendar.

 

Academic Requirements/Restrictions

Queen's University may restrict incoming exchange students by faculty.

Faculty of Arts and Sciences. This faculty includes:

  • Computing
  • Life & Physical Sciences
  • Humanities
  • Creative Arts
  • Languages

Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science. This faculty includes:

  • Engineering
  • Chemistry

Faculty of Law

Students should be aware that not all courses may be available to exchange students. Your course choices will be submitted to the relevant academic advisor at Queen's for approval and then on arrival, you will register for those you have been approved for.

 

Language Requirement

The language of instruction at Queen's is English. If you are non native English speaker, you may be required to provide evidence of language ability.

Accommodation

In the current academic year (2023-24) there was no space available in on-campus accommodation for exchange students. Students are encouraged to look for off-campus housing. The Queen's University International Centre provides resources to assist students to locate housing and you contact the Off-Campus Living Advisor for more information.

In addition to Inclusive Queen's, the university has a great support network and have Student Services offering assistance in academic and accessibility support, counselling and tutoring.

Other Information

  • Students may be required to submit a medical certificate along with an application.
  • Students are required to enrol in the University Health Insurance Plan (UHIP). This is compulsory and costs roughly $408 for the year.
