Programme Information

Exchange students should take 15 units per term/semester (30 units per year). Please visit the BC academics webpage to see available courses. 

Academic Requirements/Restrictions

Boston College cannot guarantee students entry into classes. Exchange students are urged to be flexible about classes required and to ensure that all pre-requisites are met before applying for the class.

Due to high demand students can only enrol in one class in the Finance, Economics and Psychology departments. Please visit the BC academics webpage to see courses available. 

Language Requirements

The language of instruction at Boston College is English. If you are a non native English speaker, you may be asked to provide evidence of language ability.

Accommodation

The availability of on campus accommodation for exchange students is extremely limited and rooms are assigned by lottery. Most exchange students live in off campus accommodations such as shared houses or apartments with other BC and international students. The BC Off Campus Housing Services office provides assistance to exchange students in locating housing both before and after arrival in Boston:

Boston College offer a wide range of Student Support including Emergency Services, Health Services, Counselling, Academic Support and Careers Advice. 

Other Information

All students are required to have US based medical insurance. Students will be automatically enrolled into the medical insurance on acceptance of a place through the exchange programme. The annual cost of this insurance is $4133. More information can be found on the Boston College website. 

Tuition fees are not payable to BC, however, certain courses may include certain small special fees that students will need to pay (e.g. lab fees).
