Lunar New Year Lantern Festival: Late Night Special Opening

8th February 2020, 18:00 to 20:00, Oriental Museum, Elvet Hill, Durham DH1 3TH

Join us for a late night opening at the Oriental Museum, to mark the Lunar New Year. For one night only see the Museum lit only by lanterns. Try fantastic crafts, sample delicious New Year food and drink and listen to stories. First 100 children receive a free lantern.
Lunar New Year is celebrated across Asia, including China, Vietnam, Korea and Laos. During the two-week festival, people travel to see their family and friends, give gifts, and eat a new year meal.

Enjoy fun Year of the Rat activities, including crafts and trails, dragon dancing and storytelling. Traditional New Year food will be available to sample and visitors can try games, traditional paper cuts and calligraphy.
