17th January 2020, 13:00 to 19th January 2020, 16:00, The Chapter House, Durham Cathedral

Durham Model United Nations (DurMUN) 2020 Conference offers an exciting opportunity to experience the work of UN bodies as a representative of a Member State or chair of a committee. We offer great debates and fun social while giving you a chance to solve world problems our politicians cannot. This year's theme is “Encouraging Stability in Turbulent Times” and focuses entirely on the difficulties of the Middle East.

DurMUN 2020 offers participants three days of inspiring debates on pressing issues along with fun and prestigious social in historic venues. Whether as delegates or chairs, you have the opportunity to solve problems with global impact. This year, our conference tries to find comprehensive solutions to the many difficulties Middle Eastern societies experience.

We offer four committees:
1. United Nations Environment Programme for those who are interested in tackling environmental degradation and social stability across the region;
2. Economic and Social Council for those who would stop corruption and the ever-growing economic inequalities;
3. Disarmament and International Security Committee for those who are determined to put an end to the Israel-Palestine conflict;
4. United Nations Security Council for those concerned with the ongoing Yemeni War.

Our conference further offers an informal night-out, a formal dinner at a historic location as well as a keynote speech by Sir Richard Jolly. Further details available at:
