Arriving in Durham

Tell us about your arrival plans

In order to ensure your health and safety and to provide the smoothest possible start to term for all of our students, we would be very grateful if you could let us know about your travel plans by completing this form as soon as possible. You will also be able to book a place on our free welcome service from Newcastle Airport on selected dates. If charter flights go ahead will be provide a free welcome service for these flights too.

The Epiphany Term (Term 2) will formally begin on 11 January.

We would highly advise that you only need to arrive a few days earlier than this, even if you are required to undertake a period of quarantine on arrival. The start date for College accommodation tenancies is Thursday 07 January 2021. You will be able to start the term on-line while you are in self-isolation. We understand that flight availability may be limited and we will welcome you whenever you can arrive. If you will be living in College accommodation, please continue to liaise with your College if you will arrive earlier or later than the start date of your tenancy agreement. It is important your accommodation arrangements are finalised in advance of you booking travel. This means your College will be able to ensure your room is ready for your arrival.

Students arriving at Newcastle airport on Thursday 7, Friday 8, Thursday 14 or Friday 15 January between 9:00 and 17:00 can also use this form to book a place on our free pick-up service. To allow us to provide safe social distancing on our coaches from Newcastle airport booking is essential.

We are also providing a free pick-up service for students who book on the Hainan Airlines student charter flights from China to Manchester Airport between 6-26 January. If you are on one of these flights, you do not need to book a place on this pick-up service as we will receive a list of passengers directly from the airline.

We are requesting that ALL students, arriving from overseas in January, regardless of date, complete the arrivals form here so we all the information required to prepare for your arrival.

A personal protective equipment (PPE) welcome pack will be made available for each student using the airport pick up service. This will be provided on the coach.

Due to health and safety reasons, it is essential that students pre-book the Newcastle airport pick up service. Where the service has not been pre-booked, please use the Newcastle Airport Taxi Service to travel to Durham.
