The Durham MBA (Online) climbs in QS global ranking
(27 April 2021)
The Durham MBA (Online) has been placed 4th in the UK, 7th in Europe and 11th in the world, in the QS Online MBA Rankings 2021. Now in its 10th year, the ranking lists the 57 best online MBA programmes at business schools around the world. Criteria judged includes class profiles, employability, academic reputation, and class experience.
Rising up one place in the UK from 2020, two places in Europe and five globally, the result shows the strength of our programme and the excellent collaboration it allows to take place across different time zones, with the flexibility to fit studies around busy lives.
Katherine Neufield, current Durham MBA (Online) student and Senior Data Policy Analyst, Data Development and Partnerships for the Canadian Government, said: “I was downright fussy about what MBA to apply for, with me seeking that ‘unicorn’ programme that met the needs for a self-funded, mid-career government professional: programme format, value for money, good spread of sector representation, public sector application, high quality of instruction, even mix of home and overseas students, high average work experience of the students, no GMAT, and a fabulously compact and photogenic town to spend time in.
Pleasant surprises were the amount of support, the rich assortment of clubs and meeting wonderful undergraduates and postgraduates along the way. I haven’t set foot in the UK since I started, but I feel like I belong.”
Established quality of education
Since launching our first online MBA in 1998, then classed as a Distance Learning MBA, the programme has evolved significantly.
The global spread of students, alumni and faculty gives students the ability to network virtually with people from across the world, and from a wide range of business sectors. Flexibility is at the heart of the Durham MBA (Online) and can be personalised to meet career goals.
Katherine continued: “I’m about 6 months into the programme, and I have to say I’ve been very pleased with the quality of the education I’ve received. The Leading and Managing People (LMP) module was first-rate, and I can now take what I have learnt straight into my work.”
Roshan Ramoly, who studied the Durham MBA (Online) 2017-2019 and is now Director of LinearArc Solutions, said: “Having chosen to do the MBA online, it helped me apply what I was learning along the way, making the programme much more practical with immediate and tangible results. In fact, the assignments often had a mix of both research and a reflective journal, which reinforced the practical aspect of the MBA.”
