England Premier League for men's hockey stars
(1 May 2020)
In a first for Durham University Hockey Club, our Men's 1s have been promoted to the England Hockey Premier League where they will compete as one of the best 11 clubs in the country in the 2020 / 21 season.
The promotion followed an exceptional season, in both their student and weekend leagues, that saw the team sitting two points clear at the top of the table before the season was cut short as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The players, coaches, club committee, support staff and volunteers are an exceptional group of people who have all worked incredibly hard to achieve this very well deserved promotion.
We look forward to seeing the team out on the pitch again in the future and wish them all the very best of luck.
