Try your hand at criminology and sociology during our Sociology in Action Week

(8 February 2019)

Sociology students are helping to organise and run a Sociology in Action Week.

The Week is a chance for students, researchers, staff and members of the public to explore sociological and criminological issues facing society today.

Students will be chairing debates, co-leading workshops and helping run events.

There will also be careers sessions to help students think about their options after university.

Many events are open to all students.

What’s happening?

Monday 18 February: The Sociology of Fake News. A day of debates exploring what fake news is, why it’s important and what, if anything, we should do about it.

19-22 February: workshops, careers talks and crime walks (guided tours of places around Durham City linked to the history of crime, punishment and justice).
