Virtual awards ceremony for Palatinates
(16 June 2020)
For the first time in Team Durham's history, we celebrated our Palatinate and College Sports Awards online with a virtual awards ceremony where our athletes from around the world gathered virtually, in honour of their outstanding sporting achievements.
The government restrictions put in place to help control the spread of Covid-19 meant that this was a challenging season for our Palatinates, but the awards ceremony was a fitting tribute to their commitment to and achievements within university sport.
We are incredibly proud of all our Palatinates and congratulate them on their success.
Since 2013, we have been Britain’s Number 1 Team Sport University and we currently support 17 student performance programmes.
In addition to our coaches and world-class facilities, our Performance Athlete Support Programme supports athletes with strength and conditioning, sports psychology, medical and rehabilitation support, performance analysis and leadership training and mentoring.
We have a proven track record in developing athletes and support 50 capped internationals per year.
