Would you like to show off your musical talents at the UK’s largest light festival?

The Lumiere festival returns to Durham in November 2019 and applications are now open to be part of an interactive light installation.

Lumiere’s got talent: introducing Keys of Light

Keys of Light will see visitors play a grand piano and have their music their music visualised through dazzling projections.

Each note played will trigger an animation onto the front of Rushford Court, which from summer 2019 will be home to our own John Snow College.

How to get involved

To apply for a ten-minute playing slot, email with your contact information and which pieces you would like to play.

The festival is commissioned by Durham County Council and will be a special tenth anniversary edition, featuring around 30 bespoke installations from local talent and internationally acclaimed artists.

It will run over four evenings, from Thursday 14 to Sunday 17 November, and will be free to attend.

We’re proud to be a major partner: making a major cash contribution and supporting cultural activity, volunteering and logistics.

Keys of Light is the first installation to be publicly announced. Further details about the festival programme will be revealed nearer the time.
