We are part of the North East and Northern Ireland Doctoral Training Partnership (NINEDTP), funded by the ESRC. Our research and teaching laboratories, supported by a dedicated technician, includes a new suite of research facilities built as part of a c.£30M investment into Durham’s Sport and Wellbeing Centre. In the Centre we have a Human Performance Laboratory (200m2) and a Phlebotomy Laboratory (15m2).

Staff and students have access to numerous Durham Research Institutes and Centres to enable broad interdisciplinary knowledge, collaboration, sharing of ideas, and develop innovative pathways to impact. For example, we have strong links and representation with The Durham Research Methods Centre, The Centre for Translational Research in Public Health (FUSE), and Durham Institute of Medical Humanities. We are part of the N8 Research Partnership, a collaboration of the eight most research-intensive universities in the North of England. We are also part of the The Matariki Network, an international group of 9 research and impact-intensive universities that share resources to develop international research and promote global social responsibility.
