Study Space and Library

The Leazes Road Study Centre is situated on the ground floor of the School of Education building, next to the College Chapel. Its location means that the study centre is well used by College students and provides individual study spaces and wifi. The University Library staff who run it are supported by Library Assistants who are employed by the College.

Reading Rooms

The George Smith Reading Room, named after a former Vice-Principal of the College, is adjacent to the Library and is an extension of it. Access to the room is on a 24-hour basis throughout the academic terms and there are spaces for 40 people.

During the Easter Term when examinations take place additional rooms are made available in which students can study.

These facilities are heavily used, particularly by non-resident students who require space for revision.

The Carol Carr Reading Room, named after a former Senior Tutor of the College is also adjacent to the Library.  It is equipped with comfy sofas, and is a good place to chill out as well as study.  Access to the room is on a 24-hour basis throughout the academic terms.

Computer Room

Hild Bede has a computer room with around 20 fully networked computers which student use to support their studies.
