We are delighted to offer the Kingsnorth Key Scholarship for selected MSc Economics, Finance and Management programmes.

This Scholarship is funded by Durham University Business School and Hatfield Alumnus Stuart Baden Powell BSc (Hons) (Soton) MA (Dunelm) MSc (Econ). The award is made in recognition of an impactful family member who was a staunch proponent of education, hard work,and determination, innovation and an advocate for the importance of an open international mind-set. May recipients of the award have the opportunity to be the very the best they can be.

One scholarship is available and awarded to an exceptional applicant from South Korea for the 2018/19 academic year.

Durham University is delighted to offer a tuition fee discount scheme for University alumni who choose to return to Durham University to study at Postgraduate level in 2018/19. This includes all DUBS MSc, MA and MBA programmes.

A tuition fee discount of 10% will be awarded to any self-funding Durham alumni who was successful in completing a qualification at Durham University at degree level or above.

Chevening Scholarships are the UK government’s global scholarship programme, funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organisations. The programme makes awards to outstanding scholars with leadership potential from around the world to study postgraduate courses at universities in the UK. Durham University is proud to partner Chevening in 2018/19.

Value: Most Chevening Scholarships cover:

  • tuition fees
  • a living allowance at a set rate (for one individual)
  • an economy class return airfare to the UK
  • additional grants to cover essential expenditure

Value: Up to £10,000, paid in three instalments per year. Part-time loans capped at £5,000 per year.

Eligibility:

  • Available for UK nationals ordinarily resident in England. EU, EEA or Swiss nationals ordinarily resident in the EU, EEA or Switzerland.
  • For postgraduate Masters degrees in all subjects, including taught and research programmes.
  • Available for full-time, part-time and distance learning courses.
  • Full-time courses - up to two years (depending on the length of the course). Part-time courses - up to four years (equivalent to a two-year full-time course). Part-time study must be at least 50% of a full-time course.
  • For courses beginning on or after 1st August.
  • Applicants must be under 60, without existing qualifications at Masters-level or above.

Administration: Loans will be issued and managed by the Student Loans Company.

Description: We are delighted to be able to offer an opportunity to apply for a Postgraduate Tuition Fee Loan to cover the cost of fees, through our collaboration with NEFirst Credit Union Limited. (The standard loan scheme is designed for full time students who will complete their postgraduate course within one year, but applications from part-time students will be welcomed and considered.)

Value: Up to £7,000

Eligibility: Full-time, UK self-financing students. Eligible applicants who are accepted for the loan will enter into an Approved Finance Agreement with NEFirst. The tuition fees will automatically be paid by NEFirst directly to the University.

How to apply: Applicants should apply first to the University for a place on the course they are interested in studying. The University will provide a link to the NEFirst application form to those applicants who are made an offer of a place on their course and are interested in applying for the loan. Applicants interested in this scheme should apply direct to NEFirst.

The scholarships are available for particular programmes (including MSc Environmental and Natural Resource Economics) and to those from a specified list of eligible countries.
