Biography
Dr Vsevolod (Seva) Ostapenko is an Assistant Professor in Economics (education track) and Programme Director of MSc Economics. His broad area of academic specialisation is Macroeconomics. Before joining Durham University Business School in 2023, he was affiliated with St. Petersburg University and held a visiting position at St. Petersburg campus of the Higher School of Economics.
Vsevolod's professional experience spans more than ten years, and includes teaching various disciplines within Economics, module design and curriculum development. He has an extensive background in creating special courses devoted to applied macroeconomic policy issues, having delivered a series of guest lectures at Otto-von-Guericke-Universität Magdeburg in 2019. With a track record of working within the Liberal Arts educational model, Vsevolod has been a member of the Smolny Beyond Borders initiative since fall 2022.
He teaches the following modules:
