Power, Control and Resistance - Durham DBA Module Taster Session

We hope you can join us for the online module taster session on “Power, Control and Resistance in Organisations”. The online taster session will be held on Wednesday 17 April 2024 at 15:30 UK Time for one hour via Zoom. The session will be led by Martyna Sliwa, Professor of Business Ethics and Organisation Studies. After the module taster we will introduce a DBA Alumni who will tell us about their DBA journey.

Summary

We often take for granted what we observe in businesses and other organisational contexts, and we like to use simple models to explain what we experience in our daily work. But what if we stepped out of our comfort zone, and instead looked at organisational phenomena as exotic, arbitrary and strange? What would we learn if we tried to critically appraise the extant management knowledge as well as our own – and others’ – organisational practices? This ‘taster’ session for the DBA module on Power, Control and Resistance in Organisations will provide you with an introduction to thinking about management and organisations in ways that often aren’t part of the management curriculum. Curious? Come along!

This event is free of charge.

To book your place, please email business.dba.admissions@durham.ac.uk for the Zoom details.
