Ask an academic
What type of questions can I submit?
We welcome questions from all areas of life sciences industry and commerce. Our researchers work on a broad range of biological and biomedical research programmes; from fundamental science through to translational work. We work closely with groups across the sciences, including Mathematics, Chemistry, Earth Sciences, Physics, and Engineering and Computer Sciences, so if a question cannot be answered by biologists in isolation we will discuss your problem with our colleagues across the Science Faculty. Questions could range from queries about technical services available to possible joint research ventures.
How do I ask a question?
The first step is to submit your question to the Research and Innovation Showcase organisers via email using the Ask an Academic form. Your question will then be forwarded to the appropriate academics for consideration, and we will let you know if the question is one that we can answer for you.
What happens next?
If we feel that we can offer you help and advice then we may ask you for some further details to enable us to form a study group to work on your problem and we will then prepare a written response which will be presented to you at the Research and Innovation Showcase. We hope that the response you receive will initiate further discussions and collaboration.
Is there a fee to submit a problem to the study group?
Asking a question is free.
