Senior Leadership Team

Senior leadership team to drive new Strategy forward

Durham University has a strong leadership team that is driving forward the ambitious University Strategy 2017-2027.

The goals of the University Strategy are to deliver world-leading and world-changing research across all academic departments and institutes; education that is challenging, difficult, enabling, research-led and transformative and a wider student experience to rival the best in the world.

The Vice-Chancellor leads the University and chairs meetings of the University Executive Committee (UEC). UEC manages the University Strategy and steers its business; monitors the achievement of the University's objectives; considers and makes recommendations to Senate and Council on policy initiatives and other matters and takes ownership and management responsibility for key risks.

UEC also co-ordinates the University's integrated planning and budgeting process; approves annual plans and recommends the annual budget and financial forecasts to Finance and General Purposes Committee.
