Ustinov College

Alumni and friends

Welcome to all Ustinov College and Graduate Society Alumni! Since the Graduate Society was established in 1965, 22000 postgraduates have graduated from Durham and become Ustinov alumni. Even though alumni are based around the world, in many walks of life, they remain part of the Ustinov community. It's easy to keep in touch with each other college life through our social media channels and the Ustinovian blog. Also, many alumni based in the Durham and North East area stay engaged through our Senior Common Room.

We would love for you to be involved in the life of the College. A great way to engage is through the Global Citizenship Programme, led by Ustinov Scholars and volunteers and organising range of academic, social and cultural events. You might offer to be a speaker at one of our events and share your knowledge and expertise on a topic of interest; help with promotion and fundraising and support scholars to network more widely; or you might have other ideas. And wherever you live, you could become part of our career mentoring programme. Whatever you think you could do, we look forward to hearing from you – please get in touch by emailing

“Ustinov is in some ways a microcosm of the world. People from different backgrounds, countries and faiths are all trying to make the most of their time, and explore the different paths their futures hold. My time at Ustinov was part of a journey that led me to project my positive experiences on to new environments, and to see the bigger picture in everything I work towards.”

Cat Edgeley, Ustinov Graduate
