University College has around 25 Fellows and a number of Junior and Emeritus Fellows. Fellowships are awarded on merit and all Fellows have made both a significant controibution to their discipline and the College.

The College regularly hosts visiting academics from around the world, often in collaboration with Institutes including the Institute for Advanced Study, Istitute for Medieval and Early Modern Studies, and Global Policy Institute. Durham Castle Lecture Series

The Durham Castle Public Lecture Series is devoted to bringing high-profile speakers to Durham who can contribute to academic and public discussion on issues of global significance. The presenters have made an outstanding contribution over a sustained period of time which makes them an obvious choice for this new major lecture series.

This is your chance to see, hear and learn from incredible speakers, to ask questions and think about answers. The aim is to have a create a vibrant atmosphere for intellectual debate on major issues.
