We are recruiting for a new charity executive fundraising committee

Volunteer Zambia is an international sport programme run by the Wallace Group – a collaboration between leading UK ‘sport’ universities – they support and work with the leading Zambian sports NGO, Sport in Action. Together, they use sport to engage, educate and empower young people in Zambia and the UK.
We are recruiting!
We would like to form a committee of dedicated and motivated students to form the Team Durham Volunteer Zambia executive committee.
As a charity fundraising committee it will be your collective responsibility to:
- raise the awareness of the charity and its work throughout the University population
- organise traditional activities, such as sponsored events and ticketed sports matches
- develop new and imaginative fundraising activities, many of which will involve the organisation of events
- motivate and facilitate supporters to maximise the funds they raise
- inspire new supporters to raise money, while maintaining and developing relationships with existing supporters
We are recruiting the below *positions to make up the committee:
President: To lead the Executive Committee; to represent committee to the Team Durham staff working group, students, partners, stakeholders and potential sponsors; to support each exec member in their positions as and when required.
Treasurer: To lead on all finances, providing information on the financial position of the committee to the staff working group where required; to ensure that funds raised are received promptly; to work with the committee to set a fundraising target for the year.
Media, Marketing and Communications Officer: To manage the webpage. To set up and lead on the use of a Facebook page, twitter and Instagram account to promote fundraising efforts to a wider audience; to ensure that events are reported on as and when necessary and featured on the Team Durham website and other external partners such as the Palatinate.
Events Co-ordinator: To ensure that all events are organised appropriately; work with MMC to promote events; to organise fundraising events for the group, standalone or alongside the staff working group or other students groups.
*All positions will be allocated a mentor to help develop their skill set, ensuring that each individual is supported in their role and has the opportunity to strengthen their CV whilst also benefitting the fundraising efforts of the Team Durham group and making a difference to the children in Zambia.
5% of total funds raised will be split and go towards personal fundraising targets for committee members following a successful application to travel to Zambia with the University and participate in the Volunteer Zambia project.
