Accept your offer 

If you decide to come to Durham, please log into your Applicant Portal to accept your offer. Once you have done this you will receive a portal notification to confirm the new status of your application.  

Tuition fee deposits 

You should then pay your tuition fee deposit if this is a requirement on your offer letter. 

Offer information booklet 

Our Offer Information Booklet contains useful information on things such as college membership, fees and funding, enrolment and induction and university regulations. Please read it carefully alongside your offer letter as it tells you more about the next steps in your applicant journey with us as well as any actions you may need to take.

Careers and Enterprise Centre 

The Careers and Enterprise Centre offers a broad range of services and opportunities including careers fairs, career sector forums, employer events and presentations, skills development activities and enterprise workshops They also run a specialised Careers Development Programme for students on Postgraduate Taught programmes. 

Colleges 

As a collegiate University you will become a member of a college and can also live in college if you choose to study with us. 

Once you have accepted our offer our Accommodation and Allocations Office will be in touch with you with further information about college and accommodation options. 

Disability support 

Disability Support is there to help you with any support needs you might have and to support you in fulfilling your academic potential.   

You should contact the service as soon as possible if you have a disability as this will allow us to begin to identify the support you need, including any financial support you may be eligible for. 

English language 

If you’re an international student and need help with English language skills then Durham’s pre-sessional programmes offer you the opportunity to develop the academic language and literacy skills you will need to succeed on your course.  

If you have a conditional offer which includes English language you may be eligible to take a pre-sessional to fulfil this condition. Your offer letter will tell you which pre-sessional you are eligible for and you should apply for the place via the Applicant Portal. 

Student visas 

If you are an international student and need a Student visa to enter the UK then you will need a Certificate of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) from Durham University. The CAS is a unique reference number that confirms that Durham University has agreed to be your Student Visa sponsor.   

A CAS can only be issued a maximum of 5 months before the start date of your course.   

ATAS 

If you require a visa to study in the UK, ATAS clearance is required for a small number of PGT programmes. If you require ATAS clearance it will be stated on your offer letter and you will need to apply online for an ATAS clearance certificate at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) website.
